Link Building Strategy – Get Real

I don’t like the concept of Link Credits,  Link Clubs or “Click a bunch of random links and a slew of random websites will link to yours”.  You can be certain the Search Engines don’t either.  Get real, folks.

I’m always surprised that the search engines haven’t YET penalized everyone swapping links mindlessly. In 2007 Google clamped down on Link Farms.  But of course, now in 2011 ”link farms” have been replaced with variations of the same.  They’re a bit slicker now.  And harder to detect. But still gimmicks whose sole intent is to boost link popularity for better rank in search engine results.  My advice is to avoid any bad practice or you will get burned.

Now, let me elaborate.   I just spent over an hour Unsubscribing to Email Marketers who abuse the auto responder system.  After months of being overwhelmed daily by Internet Marketing Tips, Tricks, Schemes and Scams,  I’ve had it.  And I’m not alone.

New Internet Marketers say their biggest problem is Information Overload.
Anyone sending daily (or more) emails for months is just adding to the problem and should re-think their email marketing strategy…

Power in Re-Purposing Social Media

On my last post I shared a number of options on How to Re-Purpose a Blog Post. A single Blog Post is now turning into multiple products through re-purposing.  Let’s take a look at how specific Social Media vehicles come in to the mix:

  • You’d want to Tweet about each of these projects as they come on-line
  • Include each of them on your Facebook Page over a period of time
  • Ping your Blog Posts to Social Bookmarking Sites
  • Add a Discussion Topic question or respond on Message Boards or Niche Forums
  • Feature portions in your Brand Newsletter

Seeking Marketing Bloggers for Guest Posts

As the new year gets firmly off the ground, I am making strides to re-group, get organized again and back on a sustainable path.

The biggest mistake I made in internet marketing during 2010? I just had way too much going on and found myself scattered … which leads to putting out fires. I’ve always been good at multi-tasking but this got way out of hand. Have you ever been there?

Google SEO – Tight IS Right

‘Farmer’ Algorithm Update: Ezine Articles slapped too?

Even Ezine Articles is vulnerable to Google tightening.  Are you?  Just after the major “corrections”, I posted my SEO View of Latest Google Update.  I’m addressing a reader’s comment because it warrants an update.

Nick commented: Ezine Articles was hit really bad by this update. I heard that their traffic went down massively.”

Yes, it is so true. Twice. The Panda Google Algorithm update hit many website URLs hard in February; then again in April 2011.

Ezine Articles included. It is estimated that Ezine Articles lost 35% of their traffic.
