Kloutless Influential Topic on Klout.com?

Can Mark Eisner be Influential for topic Kloutless?

So, what’s your take on Klout scores?

On Facebook and Twitter recently Klout has been getting lots of discussion. Mark Eisner of Advanced Land & Water is a small business owner trying to use more Social Media techniques to strengthen his internet presence.  And a fine job he’s doing at it, I might say.  Go Mark!  But even with a high Klout score of 55, he remains Kloutless with no Influential topics at all.  What’s up with that?

Google SEO – Tight IS Right

‘Farmer’ Algorithm Update: Ezine Articles slapped too?

Even Ezine Articles is vulnerable to Google tightening.  Are you?  Just after the major “corrections”, I posted my SEO View of Latest Google Update.  I’m addressing a reader’s comment because it warrants an update.

Nick commented: Ezine Articles was hit really bad by this update. I heard that their traffic went down massively.”

Yes, it is so true. Twice. The Panda Google Algorithm update hit many website URLs hard in February; then again in April 2011.

Ezine Articles included. It is estimated that Ezine Articles lost 35% of their traffic.

It is this blogger’s understanding that they are fighting back by tightening up and making modifications to their parameters including:

Buying Local Media Air-Time Yourself?

The Media Mix
had a call this morning from a gentleman name DJ. He’s located in a small town in Alabama. He was on our website www.themediamix.com and wanted to talk with me. He said he might want to buy air time on NBC and could I tell him 5 – 10 steps about how to go about buying TV media himself.

I told him that for local media, he could call a station or cable network directly and ask for the Sales Department. They would assign an Account Executive who would be glad to come out and get him set up with media time.

By:  Linda Yarbrough, TownHub.com

Building a research-based foundation for your web efforts starts by exploring your: marketing goals, offline marketing materials and your online efforts, stats history, and industry competitive environment on the internet.

Link Building Strategy – Get Real

I don’t like the concept of Link Credits,  Link Clubs or “Click a bunch of random links and a slew of random websites will link to yours”.  You can be certain the Search Engines don’t either.  Get real, folks.

I’m always surprised that the search engines haven’t YET penalized everyone swapping links mindlessly. In 2007 Google clamped down on Link Farms.  But of course, now in 2011 ”link farms” have been replaced with variations of the same.  They’re a bit slicker now.  And harder to detect. But still gimmicks whose sole intent is to boost link popularity for better rank in search engine results.  My advice is to avoid any bad practice or you will get burned.

Self-Hosted Crossover on WordPress Blog

Need The Easiest Way To Self-Host WordPress Blog?

I changed my Twitter Profile this morning to: Texas gal into Media Marketing Strategy & Coaching, Web Design SEO, Real Estate, Golf, Pottery & Heart Disease. Internet Marketer and wannabe Blogger.

Let’s talk about the wannabe Blogger description. When Yarby’s Corner began, I shared that I had started a Blog years ago and then took a 5 year hiatus. This time I am determined to stick with it and find my blogging voice. So far, I stand by that. But because I was testing the waters initially, I used a wordpress.com address instead of my primary business website, The Media Mix. After several months of blogging and much reading, it appears there are a “few” plug-ins I need that are not available in this platform.

Best Method to Switch to Self Hosted WordPress Blog?

Confused ... Which way to go?

Don’t get me wrong, I love WordPress.com. But as a Business Blog I need to make a change. I help clients and readers with all forms of media : from traditional off-line media to new media and all aspects of on-line marketing. So my goal is to build a community that is interactive, engaging and fluid. I don’t want to talk “at” you but “with” you. Many of the folks reading my blog care A LOT about incoming-links, solid anchor text and showing their latest Blog Post when they Comment. I too appreciate those features on other Internet Marketing and Social Media Blogs.

It seems some of the Plug-Ins necessary to achieve my goal include:

Blog Comment Link Juice

1st order of business for my self-hosted WordPress.org blog was to add  plenty of Comment Link Juice for bloggers and visitors:

  •  Do-Follow Links monitored for spam until we know your comments are “on topic”.
  • KeyWord Luv gives you the option to add keyword anchor text to the link in the name field.(Example: Linda Yarbrough@Media Marketing Strategy) This will link to the URL entered.
  • Comment Luv auto links to your last Blog Post by Title.(Example: Linda Yarbrough @ Media Marketing Strategy recently posted..  Google SEO – Tight IS Right)
  • Twitter ID Link Box - makes it ultra easy for this blogs readers to Follow You on Twitter.

If you have ANY questions about how to use these functions, just ask!  I’ll be happy to walk you through setting it up.  Long-time Internet Marketers and Bloggers will know how important these value-added features are.
